What is Clearstream?
Clearstream provides churches with a specialized communication platform designed to streamline member engagement through multiple channels. The service enables religious organizations to send mass text messages with multimedia content, create and distribute unlimited emails with an intuitive builder, and implement automated workflows that trigger scheduled communications based on user interactions.
The platform includes unique features like NFC tap tags that allow members to connect, donate, or volunteer by simply tapping their phones, plus text-to-join keywords that automatically add people to mailing lists. Clearstream integrates with popular church management systems like Planning Center and Rock RMS, offers subaccounts for different ministries, and provides tools for creating custom microsites, generating QR codes, and shortening links with church branding.

FAQs
-
How do credits work for texting?
All incoming texts are free and all emails are free. Only outgoing texts use credits. If a text is sent to a list of 100 people, it typically uses 100 credits. Messages longer than 160 characters or containing emojis or pictures may use more credits. -
Do monthly credits roll over?
Monthly credits do not roll over. They expire and replenish to your plan's allotment at each billing date. Rollover credits can be purchased separately from your plan. -
What happens if I run out of credits?
If you run out of credits, people can still join your lists and receive auto-response messages. You won't be billed for overages. If you try to send a text without enough credits, you'll be prompted to purchase more credits or upgrade your plan. -
What are subaccounts and how are they used?
Subaccounts are separate accounts under your main account, ideal for ministries or campuses that need their own separation. Each subaccount has its own lists, inbox, phone number, and users managing it. -
What is the difference between short codes and long codes?
Long codes are 10-digit local phone numbers that most churches use. Short codes are five-digit texting numbers that are easier to remember and faster, but more expensive.
